Filter Technologies provides numerous types of bag filters for general process applications. Typically, bag filters and housings are good value for recirculatory systems such as closed and open cooling loops, general clean up of incoming plant water, and most paints and resins.

Consult FTI for proper sizing and recommendations for your application. Please note that maximum flow rates listed on factory literature will not necessarily be correct based on the filter media and fluid conditions in your process.

Stainless steel housings are the most popular, with carbon steel a close second. We also offer a full line of Plastic Welded Housings in PVC, CPVC and Polypropylene. No glues are used in the manufacturing process. Information on plastic housings by request only.

BF SERIES. Shelco's proven single shell design has been a standard in the industry for over 30 years. Available in 304L or 316L Stainless Steel, Brass Nickel Plated Head with a 304L Body or Cast Iron Head with a Steel Body, the FO series is perfect for almost any purpose.

The maximum design working pressure is 250psi @ 275ºF. The FO series is available in a wide range of connection sizes to fit your application as well as a wide variety of gasket options.

Housings are available in standard industry sizes of # 1, # 2, # 3 and # 4. Special requests for other sizes.

Engineering Tip: When sizing a bag filter application for a water application, it is best to use 50 to 100 gpm flow rate per # 2 size filter bag. If the fluid stream to be filtered will be recircualted throught the housing, higher flows per bag are attainable, but the clean pressure drop should ideally be less than 5 psi. Many OEM bag filter literature will indicate flows as high as 200 gpm per bag filter. One (1) # 2 size filter bag is approximate 4-1/2 sq. ft. in surface area. It is not designed to be a strainer. The filter efficiency on a typical felt filter bag is about 60% and can be as high as 99% depending on mulitple layering patterns. Consult FTI technical sales dept for application assistance.

Shelco’s new BFS multi-cavity bag housings are manufactured
from 304L or 316L stainless steel with many standard features.

The 2BFS clamp style housing with (2) bag filters in one housing. Although available with a Swing Bolt closure, the Clamp closure is an exceptional value.

For 3 through 6-round bag housings, Shelco's heavy duty design of the swing bolt closure and davit assembly make it a perfect choice for your larger flow applications. Protective poly coat over stainless steel is the standard finish.
